In quite the innovative photo shoot, Yara Shahidi of Black-ish shared the spotlight with her beautiful family in the newest issue of Glamour.
The 17-year-old beauty was joined by father Afshin, mother Keri, and brothers Ehsan and Sayeed inside the pages of the magazine. And while she was the central focus of the interview, we learned that her father, who left Iran to come to the U.S. when he was eight, was a photographer for Prince. Her mother, Keri, met him at a lounge in Minneapolis in ’92 and said, “Did he tell you I stalked him? Because I stalked him.” Her brother Eshan was O.J. Simpson’s son in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, and her youngest brother, Sayeed, appeared on Black-ish. But more than anything, we learned that the family, as a whole, is very photogenic and happen to be a stunning bunch.
In her interview, Shahidi was asked about what’s next for her as she prepares for college, and she mentioned that with the encouragement of her parents, the sky is the limit.
“Now that I’m getting ready to go to college, the questions are: What do you want to be? Who do you want to become?” she said. “My parents taught me that it’s not a monolithic answer. You can be anything.”
